So . . . that mempunyai arti  ' sedemikian . . . sehingga . . .'. Berikut ini polanya:

so   +  adjective  + that   + clause

Contoh:

The moon was so bright that I can read a book under it. (= Bulannya sedemikian terang sehingga saya bisa membaca buku di bawah sinar bulan itu.)

This car is so expensive that I won't buy it. (Mobil itu sedemikian mahal sehingga saya tak akan membelinya.)

Jim is so tall that he can reach the mango in that tree.

The storm was so terrible that everyone felt worried of their safety.

Kadangkala so ditaruh pada awal kalimat untuk memberi tekanan.
